1- What is the 365-day Roadside Assistance?

It is an assistance service for consumers. It provides 365 days emergency roadside assistance to consumers associated with eligible Uni-Pro shops.

This service is offered to your customers who have spent a minimum of $75 (before taxes), in your shop 365 days following the invoice date.

The roadside assistance program will reimburse up to $75 plus taxes for 2 services per 365 day period. The following services are covered:

  1. Towing or winching
  2. Lockout assistance
  3. Battery jump-Start
  4. Gas, Oil, Coolant delivery service
  5. Flat Tire Assistance

 Note: The cause of the breakdown does NOT have to be directly associated to work done or parts installed at the associated garage.

2- What vehicles are covered?

This service is provided only to the vehicle described on the eligible shop invoice.

NOTE: This service is available for regular vehicles under 1 ton and registered to an individual. This service does NOT cover commercial vehicles or vehicles registered to a company, corporation, business or association.

Definition of a commercial vehicle: Any vehicle which is not registered under an individual’s name, has a Quebec commercial F license or the shop repair invoices are paid by a company, corporation, business or association.

3- How much does it cost to the consumer?

To benefit from the service, there is no cost to the consumer. The roadside assistance service is paid by the consumer who is then reimbursed up to $75 plus taxes.

4- How does a customer use the Roadside Assistance?

Option 1 – The consumer calls the UniSelect Roadside Assistance

  • The consumer called the Roadside Service at 1 855 276-9307. Whether in Canada or United States, the consumer will be assistance by an experienced bilingual agent who will find a local roadside service provider to assist the consumer.
  • The Agent will dispatch a roadside service vehicle to the consumer at the consumer’s expense. If necessary, the agent will also locate a Shop to service the vehicle at the consumer’s expense. If within 40km of the consumer’s original Shop, the vehicle will be directed to the consumer’s original Shop. Otherwise, priority will be to find an UniSelect Shop in proximity to redirect the consumer’s vehicle. 
  • The roadside Assistance team will follow up with the customer by phone 30 minutes after the first call to ensure that the customer is well taken care of.
  • The consumer will pay the roadside service in full at time of service and submit the invoice to Roadside Assistance for reimbursement up to $75 plus taxes within 60 days of the roadside service.

Option 2 – The consumer contacts a Roadside service provider in his proximity

  • This is not a problem. The consumer arranges his own service, pays the service in full, then contacts UniSelect Roadside Assistance within 60 days for a reimbursement up to $75 plus taxes.

Option 3 – The consumer contacts his Original Repair Shop directly to arrange a roadside service.

  • The Shop takes charge of arranging a roadside service for the consumer. The shop charges the consumer for roadside service at the time of service.
  • The consumer will pay the roadside service in full at time of service and submit the invoice to Roadside Assistance for reimbursement up to $75 plus taxes within 60 days of the roadside service.

** In all cases, reimbursement will only be made to the consumer by cheque. No refund will be issued to the shop. **

5- How a consumer obtains a reimbursement?

The request for reimbursement must be made to UniSelect Roadside Assistance 1-855-276-9307 within 60 days of the roadside service provided in order to receive a refund up to $75 plus taxes.

Please contact UniSelect Roadside Assistance 1-855-276-9307 to receive a claim number or request the consumer contact us for the claim number.

2 documents are to be summitted by Email, fax or mail

  • Invoice proving that consumer spent at least $75 in your shop BEFORE the roadside service and including the following information :
      •        Vehicle owner’s full name
      •        Consumer’s full address
      •        Make, model, year of vehicle
      •        Plate number
      •        Serial number
  •    Towing service invoice including the following information :
      •        Full name and contact information of the towing company
      •        Date of the service
      •        Full name of the vehicle owner
      •        Make, model, year of vehicle
      •        Plate number
      •        Total amount of the invoice

The consumer will receive a cheque in the mail within 4-6 weeks

6- Are there exceptions that are NOT reimbursed?

  1. Repair or damage to a Covered Vehicle.
  2. Cost of parts, replacement keys, lubricants, fluids; cost of installation of products or materials.
  3. Tire repair or non-emergency mounting or removing of any tires, snow tires, or chains.
  4. Service on a vehicle that is not in a safe condition to be towed
  5. Impound towing or towing by other than an authorized service provider 6. Vehicle storage charges.
  6. Any additional labour related to towing due to specialized equipment or processes required to transport your Covered Vehicle due to non-factory modifications or enhancements made to the Covered Vehicle.
  7. Towing from or repair work performed at a service station, garage or repair shop.Towing by other than a licensed service station or garage.
  8. A second tow for the same disablement.
  1. Towing or service on roads not regularly maintained, such as sand beaches, open fields, forests, and areas designated as not passable due to construction, etc.
  2. Towing at the direction of a law enforcement officer relating to traffic obstruction, impoundment, abandonment, illegal parking, or other violations of law.
  3. Traffic fines, citations or penalties.
  4. Coverage shall not be provided in the event of emergencies resulting from the use of intoxicants or narcotics, or the use of the Covered Vehicle in the commission of a felony.
  5. Any roadside assistance services provided to a Covered Vehicle by a private citizen ’s assistance is not covered and is not reimbursable.
  6. Non-emergency towing or other non-emergency service.
